Some people eat to live, some people live to eat. Well I’m definitely one of those who live to eat.
Hello! My name is Jasline, and I’m a 19-20-year-old girl living in Singapore who love to bake, to cook occasionally and to enjoy good, quality food at all times.
I love the look of chocolate cakes, the crispiness in cookies, the aroma of coffee and tea, the tartness of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, the cuteness of cream puffs and éclairs, the prettiness in cupcakes, the melt-in-your-mouth-feeling in mousses, the softness in ice creams, the chewiness in brownies, the spikiness in the smell of spices, the amazingly comforting tarts… and I extra-ly love the smiles of others when they sink their teeth into all kinds of food I make.
I was first introduced to baking when I’m 14, when my mother bought home a round cake pan to bake a butter cake. What really got me into this whole world of baking, however, was when I baked chocolate oatmeal cookies for my tuition teacher (and that was my very first recipe that I’d baked). She was the first person to compliment my baking and was the one who encouraged me to take up baking. And that, was how I started.
I’m inspired to create this food blog because I want to share the food that I love with all the others around me, and also after being an avid reader of many other wonderful food blogs for these past few years. I’m no culinary expert, I just want to prove that without a fantastically big oven and a branded mixing machine, yummy cakes and crispy cookies can still be whipped up in an un-air-conditioned, small home kitchen. Of course I do have dreams to get the fantastically big oven and a branded mixing machine, but right now I’m pretty much contented with what I have right now (I think. Ha ha.).
I have a weakness for cookbooks and baking equipment. One can never have enough cookbooks and bakeware – that is something that I strongly believe in. :p But right now I’m gathering most of my recipes from all the great food blogs all over the world and I have so many recipes that sometimes I’m lost in my next-to-bake-list.
A magic that I’ve always believed in while baking and cooking – is to put in all my heart (not literally, ha). The thought of wanting someone to like what I’ve baked and cooked has somehow help my cakes and cookies to turn out edible, and sometimes getting raves over it.
I’m an amateur and I know I have much to learn. But I hope you’ll be able to find enjoyment in reading my blog!
To me, baking is an art, an enjoyment and it is inspirational.
I’m a lover of food, food is my lover: food is my life.

Hello. i was searching for an easy pie crust that I could use to make tarts with. After going here and there i stumbled onto your website..The “food is my life” caught my eye! I have a pie cherry tree and this year it was big enough and full enough to harvest. I picked them all myself and followed a recipe to make two cherry pies…What a disaster! The juice did not gel at all! I removed them from the crust (frozen) and added cornstarch…MISTAKE number 2!! The juice turned white! it looked terrible! So I washed them off and they are still tart and yummy but i have NO crust. That is what I was searching for. I am going to try the frozen pastry puffs (unless there is frozen tart pockets??) I’ve waited three years for these cherries…. I must save them and I think you have helped. Thank you so much and I will be back to check out some of your other recipes. You have the secret my mom taught me..Cook with love in your heart and your food will nourish the body and the soul!” Your web site is excellent!
